This design is known amongst Seiko fans as the “Turtle” due to the cushion shape case and crown at 4 o’clock resembling the animal namesake, this shape originated in 1976 and was reissued in 2016 with a close-to-the-original design, updated Automatic movement, and various colourways.
The “Save The Ocean” special editions are a partnership with the Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Centre, a non-profit dedicated to marine conservation and education, and a portion of all sales of these special editions are donated to this.
The “Great White Shark” edition has a metallic blue wave dial and hidden shark fin detail, Day/date window, blue & grey 60-minute diver’s bezel insert, 45mm stainless steel case & bracelet, screw-down crown, “Lumibrite” luminous hands, markers & bezel dot, automatic movement with hand winding & 41-hour power reserve, “Hardlex” mineral crystal and 200m water resistance.
