To explain Rhodium Plating to you, we first need to explain how white gold is made.
White gold comes out of the ground as yellow gold – then we mix it with different alloys but naturally it is not a white metal, so we cover it with rhodium to give it that crisp white colour.
When does white gold need rhodium plating?
When your rhodium plating wears off your ring will look to be a dull yellow or grey colour. Fresh rhodium plating will make your ring look brand new!
How often do I need my jewellery rhodium plated?
Rings will generally need to be done more regularly compared to earrings or pendants that receive less contact wear. Rings that we wear most of the time benefit from rhodium plating every 6-12 months.
Where do I get it done and how long does it take?
We can do your rhodium plating here in our onsite workshop for just $70, unless the item is purchased from us then it's $35. We will always try and get your rhodium plating done for you as quick as we can.
