This design is known amongst Seiko fans as the “King Turtle” due to the cushion shape case and crown at 4 o’clock resembling the animal namesake, this shape originated in 1976 and was reissued in 2016 with a close-to-the-original design, updated Automatic movement, and various colourways.
The “Save The Ocean” special editions are a partnership with the Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Centre, a non-profit dedicated to marine conservation and education, and a portion of all sales of these special editions are donated to this.
The “Mantaray” edition has a metallic blue wave, textured dial with a mantaray pattern throughout. Day/date window, black ceramic 60-minute diver’s bezel insert, 45mm stainless steel case, a silicon band, screw-down crown, “Lumibrite” luminous hands, markers & bezel dot, automatic movement with hand winding & 41-hour power reserve, sapphire crystal glass and 200m water resistance.
